A Homeowner Guide to Recycling

The Rock Island County Waste Management Agency (RICWMA) offers a regional drop-off recycling program in Rock Island County, Illinois.

The program purpose is to reduce landfilling of recyclable products, to promote recycling, to encourage reuse and purchasing recycled content materials, and to improve the quality of the environment in the Illinois Quad Cities.

The communities of East Moline, Milan, Moline and Rock Island host regional drop-off recycling sites as part of a program sponsored in part by the RICWMA. The program allows any Rock Island County resident to drop-off recyclable materials at any one of the sites, located at:

East Moline - Rock Island Fairgrounds, Archer Drive & Avenue of the Cities, Gate #3

East Moline - 1200 13th Avenue

Milan - 451 W. 4th Street

Moline - 3635 4th Avenue

Rock Island - 16th Avenue and 24th Street

City Carton Recycling processes and recycles the plastics, metal, and paper products including cardboard and box board. RICWMA administers the program and subsidizes the cost of recycling through its solid waste fee assessed at the landfills in Rock Island County.
