All homeowners within the city limits of Burlington, Danville, Des Moines County, Mediapolis, Middletown, Morning Sun, Mt. Pleasant, Mt. Union, New London, Salem, W. Burlington, Westwood and Winfield have Curbside Recycling through the Des Moines County Regional Solid Waste Commission. Note : Cereal boxes are not accepted.  They may be dropped at City Carton, Mt. Pleasant, in the cardboard area).

 

Residents of Henry County have recycling through Whaley Waste systems. You can recycle at the same time you drop off your trash on your specified days or at Whaley Waste Systems.

Newspapers: Can be loose or tied with a string, put in paper bags or placed in a cardboard box, then placed in the drop-off container at City Carton Recycling, 301 N. Harvey Place, Mt. Pleasant, IA.

Magazines: Only slick or shiny magazines and catalogs accepted.

Mt. Pleasant & Henry County Recycling

Cardboard: Corrugated cardboard only. Please flatten and stack. Drop-off site available at City Carton Recycling, 301 N. Harvey Place, Mt. Pleasant, Iowa for residential community. The business community will need to call (319) 385-7206 for further details.

Office Paper: Can be loose or tied with string, placed in boxes or put in paper bags. Then place in drop-off container at City Carton Recycling, 301 N. Harvey Place, Mt. Pleasant.

Plastic, Tin & Glass: Please recycle these items with your Curbside Recycling Program.
